Does anyone know whether a Tacstar 6 shot side saddle can be mounted on a Mossberg 590A1 without any modication to the foreend?
Thanks for the help.

I actually mounted a Tacstart 6 shot side saddle made for an 870 to my 590 A1 SPX with outdoor high strength double stick tape. It fits just fine and the gun cycles without the forend hitting anything. I got the advice from another CGNer who has used this double stick tape for a while with no problems. You can actually put your fingers in my side saddle and shake the shotgun vigorously without a problem. You can get the tape at Canadian Tire. It has a red peel away and the tape is a greyish colour.

Make sure you get the sidesaddle specific to the 590. I have the 6 shot TacStar mounted on my 20" 590 and there is no modification required to the gun. The front of the sidesaddle extends about a quarter inch from the front of the receiver, so does not interfere with the fore-end, and it extends to within about an inch or so of the rear edge of the receiver, slightly behind the slide stop release. A screw replaces the trigger group pin at the rear of the trigger guard, and threads into the rear of the sidesaddle back plate. A longer ejector screw is replaces the factory ejector screw and threads into the front of the sidesaddle back plate, and is held in place with a thin nut, don't be like me and strip the nut.

Or he can bubba it like I did. :D Actually it looks great. I cut all the edges off since the screw holes were not required when using the tape. It's like a rectangle now and actually fits better than the side saddle does on the 870 that it's made for.

That wraps it up in a nutshell. I have one on my 590 and love it. Easy to install and everything is included. Replace the screw and your done!

If you tighten that screw that replaces the trigger group pin too much, cycling will become difficult. If this happens just loosen it until it's back to normal. Also I advise a bit of locktight on that nut.

Locktite on all screws, snug but not killing it, and it works FLAWLESSLY. Holds onto shells very snugly.

21 shell shotgun.
