Hello everybody…..

I’ve been having this argument this entire year of which of these 2 rimfire firearms is better than the traditional “plastic” tactical guns.

What would you choose, and why…?

Ruger SR22
Or
Derya TM22

I’m sort of on the fence on the choice here….

Something to consider... as it is essentially a 1022, the SR22 has a lot of customization options including barrels and triggers.

I would go with the Derya. I have had a few 10/22's over the years one of which was an SR. I personally think the 10/22 is over rated for the price and now with the uncertainty regarding the mags, it is less appealing. The Derya's are flooding the market and are well made and reliable.

Whatever you decide, buy it soon+ all the mags you think you'll ever want/need. Plus a couple more.

The gun grabbers are working overtime as we speak.

Ruger SR22 Or Derya TM22

I know one guy who owns both; he likes his Derya better.

Me, I worry about future parts unavailability of less-common models of given products, so I'm disclined to take (what I regard as) that chance.

I now own 2 of the Derya TM22 and have to say that yes I am impressed. Mine will shoot whatever I feed it and my white version now has over 2500 rounds with not one failure. Just picked up the 'Distressed Red' version and still waiting on an optic to arrive for it. I also created a FB page for owners and those considering buying one.

I have both. Tm22 has a flat trigger and cycles faster than my sr22. Shorter travel on the trigger. I have a pile of 15rnd and 25rnd mags for the tm22. Planning to get some tuff22 mags for the sr22. Tm22 is lighter, for Steel Challenge, it's faster. A better trigger in the sr22 is probably next purchase. If I had to buy only one, it would be the tm22. The sr22 purchase was a "better get one since it's no longer available new"

I have a modded SR-22 and really like it. Match barrel, Kidd two stage trigger, Dlask bolt, yes it is basically a 10-22 but that’s what makes it good because it is so customizable, it’s the Chevy small block of the rimfire world. I actually prefer the heavier weight, I like the very solid made aluminum fore end vs some of the other flimsy plastic ones made.
