tactical .22s

I'm fairly new to firearms as well but I'd like to know more about our gun lobby here north of the 49th parallel. Do we have any? What are they doing to fight this nonsense? Other than giving the lobbyists more money to do nothing is there something we as gun owners do to change things? Can someone who knows more about this bring me up to speed?

Check out the Action Centre part of the forum. Has lots of info about that

The ISSC SCAR is non restricted because the RCMP has not yet classified the real SCAR rifle. If it goes restricted, then the ISSC will become restricted as a variant. If the real SCAR goes prohib, then all ISSC owners will lose their guns. The thought of this is disturbing to say the least.

Maybe the RCMP needs to be educated on firearms as well as the people still trying to get their PAL.
It seems that any gun that was used by a bad guy in a movie is prohibited.

Were talking about 22s here, I have a pellet gun thats more powerful then these things. This is pure bulls**t, prohibiting firearms strictly on appearance and not on the operation or caliber.

Yeah restricted has to do with the action. I'd love the M&P15-22, but who wants a restricted rimfire? (In some places i could see it not matter, but for a farm kid it does!) So i got the mossberg tactical, and have no problems with it. I regret buying the carry handle version though. But no reason to fuss, just put the optics on the upper deck and shoot!

Or cut the carty handle off. Buy a 6" rail and mount it flush with the gun. Works fine on mine till the flat top version comes out!!!!

Does the RCMP not physically examine these things. THis is what i meant by them being the most uneducated people in the country.
Classifying guns based on appearance only. Not caring about what caliber they are or their functionality.
If any world military use the full caliber version, then they assume that a .22 lookalike is essentially the same gun.

Or if it was in movie. cuz u know movies r real right.

well the reasone the colt m4 22, m&p 15 22 and the cmmg are considered restricted is because you remove the pivot pin and take down pin and you can change the uppers to 223,7.62x39,7.62 nato 6.8 300aac blackout or .50 beowolf

well, that doesnt wash.... how about the mp5 type .22's, you cant swap anything to make them 9mm? or the H&K 416/ .22 variant, it cant be swapped into anything.... the whole govt. regulation thing is senseless!

From what i can see is black "military" style guns= scary. so make em restricted.

And the non restricted ones are honestly the result of a slow legislative process. the SW MP and Colt M4 are restricted because they are m4 variants, the moment the scar becomes a restricted firearm formally, the Issc variant will also be restricted. The mossberg 715 tactical? Probably the same thing, however it may escape because it can be argued it isn't an m4 variant because it is a shell and underneath is just a "non scary military gun."
