Wolverine Supplies can supply you with the badger knob. They are a sponsering dealer here on CGN. Just look at the top of the login page and click on the Wolverine Banner. You can cantact Joe Dlask of Dlask arms corp (www.dlask.com). He is a fine rifle smith and does the whole shabang.

Strength of bolt handles

... the tactical bolt knob is one of the best. And it's soldered/welded on so it won't come loose.

Everyone is posting about a larger bolt knob so they can cycle a bolt action rifle faster. More surface area and leverage. Great idea, but whenever one component is changed the increased forces go somewhere. I have seen a Model 700 BOLT HANDLE break off when cycled hard. Apparently this is not an unknown occurence either.

If and when I get an extended bolt handle, I will have the gunsmith drill and tap a set screw from the bolt through to the bolt body.

Gee, my knob sure gets around...................:p ;) :D :dancingbanana:

IMHO, the Dlask Tac bolt handle is the best one as the knurling helps when wearing gloves or when it is cold and wet. Joe welds them on so there is no chance of them coming loose or off.

He charges $95.00 for the conversion and is located in Delta, B.C. on Annacis Island (conveniently less then a 2 min drive from my work!!!!:D ).

I dont wana belly ache, but here I go. I have a 700 left handed and with the damn leupold scope cover and its debochary of a release it gets in my way on the left side where I cycle. I tried rotating it but its still in the damn way. Think a bolt knob would clear it? and or burris make a scope cover without it for the mark 4 objective? (end of highjack)

Thanks

Sorry to revive an old thread, but can someone drop a few names of gunsmiths who can put on a Badger bolt knob ? Thanks.

I have had HWSNBM put 3 Badgers on for me, it is my personal favorite and he does a great job. Really it all comes down to personal preferance and all of the above mentioned are good, it is up to you. One piece of advice, do not base it on looks, something that looks cool may not function for you, but something that looks not that cool may be just perfect for you. One other option is CyberK, he is now making and installing bolt knobs, looks like a nice uint and a really good price at that. He is also a great guy to deal with and he is a dealer listed here allengunworks.

Something like these?

Haha! Nice.You going to Cfsac?
Doesn't look good for CFSAC this year. The unit is busy trying to get me all LAV qualified for tour next summer. If I manage to make it out, it will have been with no practice or unit support, hell, I'd probably have to borrow a rifle off of the militia.

BTY, I'm diggin' your bolt knobs, especially the one on the far left with the real chunky checkering. How are they on the hands during rapid shoots?

Longshot ROCKS as he re-did my Remington 700 Police .308 bolt handle/knob and it's perfect ... THANKS again,
