Folks
Looking for some suggestions on a tactical carbine optic for my XCR 7.62x39
I have always run a straight red dot optic but I'm looking at getting a 1-4 optic to make the rifle a little more versatile.

I want to be able to utilize the optic for cqb and out to 500 yards.
I was looking at the Weaver Tactical 1-5 X 24Mm Illuminated Intermediate Range Scope but it's got a hefty price tag.

Looking for any input on what guys are running on their carbines which fits the bill of what I'm looking for.
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks.

I have a couple of the Millet 1x4 scopes. I find the reticle is very good (fast) for CQB, and the tiny dot is very good for long range shooting. Natches was selling them for around $225.

The new Bushell AR 1 x4 for $199 (Sponsor) looks good, too. I have used the Bushnel lifetime Warranty twice and is was very good and fast.

500m is a big ask for anything you also use for CQB... maybe some big glass atop and an offset RDS is in order?

It's also a big ask for x39... 124 inch drop at that range... Over double the drop of a .223!

Depends on the level of accuracy the op is looking for. Significant "drop" or rather a pronounced parabola isn't an issue, its more bucking the wind and accurate range estimation that will cause greater error.

I have a burris mtac 1-4 on one of my rifles.
Ive used it out to 225 yards or so at my range and it's easy out to there. Has compensation out way farther but I haven't tried that far.
