do not discount double barrel shotguns as you have a simple gun that shoots fast and should be reliable .nothing to pump or bind .two barrels and two triggers makes for a gun that should go bang .in timed trials double barrel guns could get off more shots in a minute than pump guns were you were starting with an unloaded gun .

If I was ever in a situation where I needed a tactical shotgun, I woud much rather have a loaded pump with 8 rounds in it than a loaded coach gun.

I wonder what kind of magnification that scope has. You know for those long range buckshot kills. I wonder how it groups with slugs. The couple I've shot never seem to shoot to the same POA.

The only thing I could do without is the scope rail. Single trigger=good, synthetic=good, flashlight rail=good. Modern meets old school, bound to happen eventually. Front sight looks good and visible. A little "over the top" maybe. A decent camp gun that you could get away with in hunting areas as you don't have to worry about mag capacity or plugging tubes. A proper Fudd nightmare. Lol.

Yeah I thought it was synthetic too. If you re-read the bit posted on page one from the Stoeger website, its actually matte black wood.

I just read it-lame. Chips will show up on that like a Lite-Brite. I like the ported barrels though.

Even if they did make one, which I sincerely hope they dont, It would be very expensive and buying one would defy all logic and common sense.

The light mount is a huge fail. If the light is indeed mounted where it is in the photo it will be difficult to access. If you move it back towards the fore-end a large shadow will be produced at the 12' clock position, negating the advantage of a light. Two rounds is not a defensive load and black wood is a poor excuse for a synthetic stock. If the SxS is all you have, work with it. If you need a bush/bear/HD gun, get a pump gun.

is it just me, or does it seem that all the major manufacturers seem to have lost their marbles and are churning out bizarre firearms.

Have you looked at the Remington website lately?

I was pissed when they replaced the LH Model 700 VS, in .223 Rem and .308 Win with the VSF. Now they have discontinued them both.

The VS was the only type of LH rifle I wanted for target shooting.
