I stumbled on this by chance and i happen to be putting together a Rem 700 in .223 and was wondering if anyone has ever tried one and how they work/hold up? It seems like a good alternative to bottom metal and mags for the price.

Also looking for somewhere in Canada i can order one.

I bought mine in the EE, I don't know where to get one new.

I'm not overly impressed with the fit, it's a little stiff to open and there's an obvious gap between it and the metal. It is what it is, and I'll be honest, I put it on for looks. I've since bought bottom metal from Jerry but it's not installed yet.

ya ive read that it usually comes a little to tight and that people have had to shave material off in order to get it to fit. Better to have to much and be able to take some off then there not being enough i guess,

I have one and ordered it directly from the company. Mine is on my .308

It was a little tight to close when I first got it as rm11xx said but I didn't have to shave any material. It closes more snugly than the stock bottom metal piece however when closed it stays closed.

Personally I find it gets somewhat hard to load to the maximum advertized 7rds but it holds 5-6 very comfortably whereas with the .308 stock internal mag on the remington it gets really tight after 4 rounds.

For the low cost I think they are definitely worth it.

Ya you can get them directly from the company, about $20 shipping to ON. Brownells also sells them and it doesnt say anything about shipping when i add it to my cart. Once i get my SPS i will try to order one from brownells and see how it goes.
