So my BRS-99 barrel shroud set scew worked itself loose after about 20 rounds... Then moved forward ever so slightly - just enough for round 21 to blow the end cap off cleanly. Yes, I should have checked, but too late.

I then looked at the design and thought "O well, I'll see what I can salvage/fix, but it would not hurt to let Tactical Imports know - maybe they can take a suggestion or two in consideration."

Two days later I receive an envelope in the mail. A brand new shroud. Confused I emailed - No charge!

I never requested or even "suggested" that I need one. They just sent one...

Now that is what I call service, the first time that I've encountered a vendor doing this.

Astonishing!
Keep it up Tactical!!

Tactical Imports is top notch for customer service and satisfaction. I know this from my own experience with them

Thanks for letting us know that the shrouds can come loose. I will loctite the set screw and clamp in place on mine before I take it out.

How do you like your BRS-99 ?

It is very accurate, and very easy to shoot. Optimized for optical sight which means if you use the open sights you have to literally weld your cheek to the stock. But contrary to for instance the Keltech, recoil is minimal. I can literally fire shot after shot at 15m, keep all the shots in a 50-60mm circle and never lose sight picture.

Very compact, super easy to clean. Very reminiscent of the Uzi. I haven't used the restricted barrel as I like the non-restricted status.

I will modify my shoud slightly though. Just open up the front so that the barrel pokes through to sit flush with the front. I can then see if the shroud has moved. As it is, it buts up against a shoulder inside the shroud and if you do not have a visual reference at the back, you don't have any idea if/when the shroud move.
Shroud is excellent quality - they even have an internal band that clamps when the set screw is tightened to prevent damage to the barrel. Trick is to tighten it enough to clamp, but not over tighten and strip the threads. (Or under tighten and eliminate the front!)

Just waiting for the replacement front grip - I personally prefer the horizontal over the vertical grip.

Thanks NamTinker,

Yrs, for sure..

The BRS 99 is very accurate. You can group even tighter than that. At 25M, with my elbows resting on the bench, I can shoot raged 1 hole groups with this thing. It seems to like 115g ammo.

I have a Burris fastfire 2 on the rail and can get my eyes down on it ok, but a 1/2" riser would be more comfortable.

I will try using this gun in a 2 gun idpa style match one day. The last match of this type, I chose my FAMAE SAF over the BRS99 only because I can reload the saf much faster with two mags coupled together.

enjoy...
