Ok, I excessively love my Marlin 45-70 Guide Gun, I know there are better firearms for just about all applications, but I just love mine. I know I am not alone, Lever rifles just 'Do-it' for alot of us. So, I thought I would start a thread on the odd & a-typical...

Tactical Lever Action Rifles. Yes I just said that.

◊ Most efficient at putting rounds on a target - probably not.

◊ Easiest to reload quickly - not really

◊ Multiple target potential - not many.

◊ Coolness factor - Yes. Hellz yes.

Lets talk about 'em :D

Got one ? Show one ? Famous ones (ex: ever used one in the theatre of battle, movies, etc.)

(This one isn't mine - lol found it online)

So, what's next? A Mare's Leg will now be referred to as an EPDW - "Equine Personal Defence Weapon"?

If Magpul starts accessorizing lever actions then I'm getting out of the hobby. This "tacti-cool" horse #### has gotta stop somewhere.

Jeff Cooper considered a 30-30 lever gun a viable carbine for police work if I'm not mistaken. I think they're well suited to the task, maybe a little traditional looking but they do their job just fine!

hey its no more odd than what alot of mall ninjas use on this fourm. im really surprised we dont see more tatical levers. if you can hang lights, lasers and mulitple sights on an ar 15 that is used to shoot paper why not a gun you can get some meat with...just my 2 cents.

Here's my 45-70 in it's current set-up ... (undecided whether I am going to keep adding to this Marlin 45-70 or pick up a blued one and just make it full matte black with all the toys)

To come :
  • Ghost ring sights
  • Picatinny rail lower mount for Tac-light + Laser
  • Replace strap for thin military style
  • Red Dot sight to replace NC Star 2x32 red illuminated scope (relaxed eye)

^^^ I like the top rail, wish it was longer so you can get a longer sight picture with other irons

kind of an update on a classic, nothing wrong with that, and no one is forcing anyone to buy one
