Tactical lights on pistols

You may want to try this one 10,000,00CP burn your retinas out of your eye sockets. Even if you don't shoot him, the perp will probably need a seeing eye dog afterwards:

Dude, that spot light is the next best thing for home defense. Great idea!

Anyone who breaks into my home at 3am is a threat the minute they cross the threshold. By breaking in they have made the maliciousness of their intentions clear.

And it turns out to be some drunk college kid thinking it was his place and gets blasted by you...

Another note, what Big Red said...preferably have a weapon mounted light and a hand held.

The Streamlight TLR-2 which has a powerfull light and laser is on sale right now at Optics Planet for $224.88. If you enter code 4WKR94 you get an additional $10 off. I couldn't resist this deal and ordered one tonight.

Streamlight M3 on my G17 which sits in the Garrison safe in our closet.

Surefire forend on my trigger locked 14" HP9-1 that hangs in the closet beside my Garrison safe.

Surefire 6P on my night table.

Oh yeah, if the zombie is hardened or gets behind solid cover I'll grab one of my bush camp rifles from my gun room. 45-70 Marlin 1895GS with a TLR-1 in a WWG mount. ;) Not much in my house that will provide a zombie with cover from a 45-70 ;)

It's all moot since if my two dogs sense a zombie, I'm deadbolting our solid wood bedroom door and calling 911 on my cell. I might however use the Jean Reno technique that you see in my avatar.

Griffoneur's comment got me thinking about a having a pistol mounted light for home defense, here are the typical steps one must take being a "responsible" gun owner in Canada.

first you get out out bed to grab your firearm, as good law abiding citizens we must turn on the lights so we can find the key or enter the combination to open our gun safe, next we need to keep the light on so we can open the trigger lock, next we slam a loaded mag into the pistol, once that is done we can finally turn off the lights in the room and use the pistol mounted lights to confront the assailant in the dark.....

I think there is a Saturday Night Live sketch in there somewhere.

I've been hovering over this for about a year and decided tonight to go for it. Also did the USPS Priority Mail to avoid UPS charges.

I assume this fits on the standard rails that come on the P226 Sig etc?

I can feel the combination keypad numbers on my safe in the dark.

Since it's a safe, no trigger lock on the gun.

It's open the safe, put the loaded mag into the gun and turn on the light.

Of course we are talking a worst case situation where someone possibly threatening harm to you or your family is already inside your home.
