Since Magpul is unable to export their Battery Assist Device I opted for a BAL made by Tactical Link. I ordered two of them three weeks ago and they arrived yesterday. The BAL is easily installed with an included allen key. Three screws hold the device firmly to the bolt catch. I played with it a little after I installed it onto my Stag Arms rifle. I used an empty mag and a mag with dummy rounds to practice with. The operation of the BAL is quite easy and can really speed up your operation of the bolt catch once you master it. The trigger finger is used to manipulate the BAL while you operate the cocking handle with your left hand. Very fast. Once I get a chance I'm going to try it at the range with live rounds.

Cobalt it looks like your BUIS would be in the way when you grab the charging handle. Is this why you are looking to make the bolt catch easier to manipulate?

I'm glad my XCR has an ambi bolt release, making this one more doodad I don't need.

I noticed that too Brownells E-mail me that it wasn't exportable but I got something from them yesterday and they charge me on it too, but I haven't picked it up yet. So it could be BAD lever... I hope.

I was going to order it from Magpul but they have a disclaimer on their website saying they will not export it.

Got my Magpul BAD lever today from Brownell's. It looks awsome and as usual with Magpul very high quality, I will post pics when I install it tonight.... Oh ya I originally back ordered it from Brownell's, so from that day to my door it was about 2.5 - 3 weeks... Total cost 30 bucks or so to my door CDN

The Tactical Link system has been getting some piss poor reviews on the US Gun Boards, seems it get loose after only a few rounds, and is nor as secure as it should be.

I had to look at the photo to see what you were talking about. It actually isn't as big as it looks in the picture. My hand clears the BUIS just fine. I got the BAL to make locking the bolt back, releasing the bolt, and clearing stoppages easier. Not that I have that many stoppages.

I put a small amount of Loctite on the screws. Enough to avoid having them come loose but not enough to lock them in place permanently. If I want to remove the BAL I can still unscrew the allen screws.

Looks good. I wanted the Magpul one originally but didn't realize that Brownell's was carrying them. No biggie. I'll try out the one I have and see how it goes.
