Tactical mini 14

To add to what Matt_dal123 posted, the "tactical" models as Ruger sells in the USA have a barrel length less than 18.5 inches, so they're restricted. There's no demand for a restricted model of the Mini-14 in Canada, so nobody has bothered to import them. However, the stock Ruger uses on the "tactical" model is nothing more than the ATI Strikeforce stock, which is available at many Canadian firearm retailers, so it's just a matter of buying the stock sparately, then add it to a non-restricted Mini. As for the rest of the "tactical" model's features, all you would have to do after getting the stock is buy some 5/20 or 5/30 magazines, and thread the barrel and add a flash hider, then you've basically got the same model, but in a non-restricted configuration.
Not trying to be critical, but somethings not adding up here, Within two weeks you had a Mini 14 Tactical and then got rid of it and are looking for another?

Here is one I built a few months back for around $1200.00 (without optic).
most of the stuff was purchased from Hi-Cal (site sponsor) and then i had a local smith (Reliable Gun)thread the barrel for a muzzle brake.
the last thing i did to it was put a barrel stabilizer on it (Har-Bar) to improve accuracy....

That looks to me like a package (which I might add are not in stock on their site right now) that they have put together to mimic the "tactical" model, using a stripped down non-restricted mini-14 as the base, then adding the ATI stock and a larger magazine, much like I was suggesting you could do to accomplish the look of that model. IIRC, Frontier also used to put together a similar "tactical" SKS package as well. Doesn't mean the rifles came from the factory like that, it simply means that they had put these kits together for any interested parties. And I'm glad they have done so.
