Not usually a fan of tacticool SKSs (though I do have one myself... sigh...) but I really like this one. It splits the difference between tacticool and classic nicely.

You cut down the bolt handle? And did you cut into the bolt carrier sides too or is that the light?

a friend of mine cut/ground off the bolt handle and sight hood when he owned the rifle, i just cold blued the carrier after i took possession of it.
there were no cuts made to the side of the carrier thats just a result of my crappy phone camera and poor lighting. the only other thing I've done to the rifle is add the leather butt pad for a little extra LOP and put a factory internal mag back on

Just finished up mine today. I'll eventually be sending it off for Armacoating. But I'm happy with it for now.

Re: the front sight.

Did you knock it off and recrown? What is the new barrel length? Any change in accuracy?

Barrel length remains the same and no recrown since the sight does not reach the end of the barrel. No change in accuracy either.

Knocked it off. Cut and recrown. Barrel is 18.5" now. No huge change in accuracy.

I don't understand this though, the VZ picture thread just says post some pics of your tacticool VZ's
