CCO = Close Combat Optics, at least that's how I figure it. :?

I had read that a light on the scope lets you keep the carbine lower behind cover / barricade.
If your light is on the same plane as your barrel (at 3 o'clock) that's as low is the rifle can get. What good is using your cope behind cover if the barrel is also beind cover? Think about it.

As I explained in the post,
reflect a lot more light back on the shooter
at least some of the available light will a) not go downrange and b) bounce back at you, which both hurts your nightvision and makes you an easier-to-see target. So I would think the gun would be raised to avoid those issues.

Would somebody post pics of all 3 listed on the poll? And any other CQB/CCO optics and info on them? Thanks,

p.s. what type would you use on a Sig Blue Star .223 semi-auto?

Otokiak read Kevins post on Black Rifle optics. It is excellent info. Personaly speaking for your local and the type of rifle's and shooting I have seen from your previous posts on other subjects I would Recomend you stick to a good glass optic for your Location and extream seasons.

Just an opinion

How about PERSONAL experience info/opinions on these sights???

I personally run the ACOG TA31F on a 16 hbar carbine and the aimpoint M2 on the CQBR. Since I am in Southern Ontario, I never experience the extreme weather of NU; but both my optics have held up in summer and winter shooting.

I personally like the Eotech as I have used it on GT's CQBR a few times. The only thing is, I have seen three 551/552 failed (won't turn on, won't hold zero) so far and that kept me away from buying Eotech. But I do think they make good optics, I just happened to see the bad apples. I am definitely (patiently) waiting for the 553.

Who knows? Maybe if I get to "sample" the SB short-dot, I'll be willing to put up with the 2200 USD price tag

Hope this helps 8)

I just ordered an EOTech 512 this week. (I don't need the NV Option)

I'll let folks know how it works out, I've got a shoot at the end of the month (CQB stuff)

My experience so far with CQB type stuff is not so much running and gunning, as short-range target engagement, but the Elcan I've used for this hasn't been 100% the best option (in my mind).

I'll do a side-by side at some point with an Elcan and the Eotech and get some second/third opinions on it.

I have never had an issue with Aimpoint...period, in thoughsands of rounds, while I really like the Eotech mine crapped out and would turn off from recoail, turns out it gave up the ghost and was promptly covered under warranty...however confidence was lost and the Aimpoint now sits atop the Bushy. I have been using the TA01 NSN again after a few years and like it a lot, however I think t should be zeroed at 200m on the 100m hold as the difference with .223 from 100 to 200 is minimal.
