Would love to attend some courses in the USA to get some additional experience, but the ITAR rules and the "US Citizen Only" flag seems to be popping up every place I contact.

Thought I saw a post on CGN this week that mentioned somewhere in Calgary, etc. that was doing similar courses indoors but can't for the life of me find it now.

Can anyone provide me any guidance on schools/courses/ranges that offer tactical training / 3-gun type training in Canada?

I'm located in Ontario but willing to travel for a worthwhile course.

They have some in Southern Ontario. If you have a few guys interested you may be able to fly someone up to do some training. Speak to your range and see if you can get a signup going, for a few grand you can probably get someone there for the weekend.

Agoge Tactical Regimen.

A number of people have travelled from Alberta, Manitoba and I believe BC and have said it was well worth it. I believe Agoge will travel to train as long as there is sufficient people signed-up and paid to make it economical.

Good to hear about Agoge.
I am trying to muster up the courage to take my first training course and have been looking at them as they are local to me.

I think you'll be very satisfied with the training you get at Agoge.

What are you looking for? Pistol, carbine or shotgun?

If you are referring to me, I am looking to learn my pistol and AR. The tactical stuff seems like it would add some fun (different shooting positions, scenarios, etc.). I have a belt and some mag holsters but not much else (and no idea how to properly lay out a belt). Only real thing holding me back is gear . It's been hard to find a holster for an XDm and by the sounds of it I need some knee pads and a few other misc items. I have only been shooting for about 2 years with no formal training.
If you were not referring to me, oops. Didn't mean to thread jack!

Actually yes I was. Sorry I meant to quote.

The gear list is in the course description for each respective course on the website: http://www.agoge-tactical.com/training.html

Pistol
It's best to have a "real" holster and by that I mean one made for the specific gun. A number of people have done the courses with the universal (nylon and straps) holsters and were fine.

Carbine
You will need to have something that holds a few AR mags plus your pistol mags. This is ideally a vest or chest rig, but it could also be everything on the belt. Depending on your size I have an extra vest or plate carrier I can lend you (without plates). The size is medium but it has quite a range of adjustment. If you break it you buy it.

Knee pads are good for both. You will be on your knees and it just makes it easier.

Just stick to the training points and execute them with the correct form a technique. Focus on staying relaxed and shooting/moving smooth. Its a great place to shoot and learn/develop skills.

Thanks! Currently dealing with a store to get "suited up". A real holster is on the list. Looking at a Gcode OSH. Holsters for XDMs are a little less common than other pistols. Looking at some knee pads, holster and a plate carrier. A couple more tacos as well. Should be all I need.
:)

Shorrty, please don't be intimidated by the gear or level of training in the videos. I teach all types of skilled shooters from basic to advanced and many different Agencies. Our courses are normally mixed with all types of shooters and everyone gets along fine and is willing to help out and very respectful towards each other. Although I highly recommend and support the use of full battle gear many have come out with Jeans, T-shirt and a holster.
