I have a Glock 22 and love the gun. The problem I have is with a tactical reload, because the magazine release button isn’t that easy to reach. Any tips?

Turn the gun slightly in your grip like maybe 60% of the shooters do? Is the mag release ambidextrous and can be switched to the other side and activated with your trigger finger? There was a poll done a few months ago about twisting the gun in your grip to hit the release if you can find it.

Edit: Found the poll, turns out it was 55% have to shift their grip.

I move my middle finger to the side of the trigger guard bottom and it gives me enough leverage to activate the mag release.

Thanks for everybody's reply. Much appreciated!

I have an extended mag release on my Glock and I can activate it without adjusting my grip at all. I highly recommend one.

Did you get a gun smith to do it? or was it easy to do yourself?

Just remember to take a nail file to the corners of the mag release. They really dig into your hands otherwise.

Also watch out on the extended ones...some are so extended that they will actually hit your holster and dump your mag for you when you are not looking.

The solution is either a) a Vickers mag release, or b) shortening a LW or what have you. I shortened the one I got from glockparts by heating up a file and melting it down a little at a time. That shortened it but gave it a good, grippy texture from the file.
