How about this as an ideal bush-buster for deer - a Remington 7400 Carbine in 30-06 with Williams rear peep sight, Tru-glo front sight, and an ATI collapsable stock?
I put it together about 2 weeks ago and finally got to test fire it last weekend. Was hitting the 200 yard gong at the target range every time, and even managed to keep it "minute of whitetail" out to a full 300 yards. (Best 100 yard group was just over 1 inch with factory Winchester PP loads.)
Zero jams, very nice shooting with the stock in place. It's nice in that you can adjust the length of pull to several different lengths.
Can't complain on the caliber either; the '06 blows away the 7.62x39 any day of the week!
FLAME INCOMING!!
