Tactical rimfire, is the Nomad the lightest ?

Mossberg is just over 5lbs loaded. My new su-22 is almost a pound lighter. With the charlie stock it will be even less. With a pistol barrel it will be also lighter. My guess is just under 4 lbs.

I've got a marauder (or nomad I guess) as well as an SR-22 and the marauder kit is by far much lighter. I haven't put them on the scale but in your hands it feels like half the weight. That being said the stock 10/22 is pretty dam light. If you really want to go all out why not try modifying a synthetic 10/22 stock. They're pretty light to begin with and come with the picatinny mount for the top. From there I'm sure you could shave weight from a lot of places and shape the stock to what your looking for.

You are right, the synthetic stock is around 550 grams and is hard to beat for the weight but once again, like the butler creek folder, im not looking for the lightest.. Im looking for a cool looking light tactical stock and the synthetic is not in that category.

With that said.. I made my choice so thank you everyone for your help.. You guys kick arses! :)

What did you end up choosing?

i still have time to change my views before buying since i had to buy a bull barrel, receiver, muzzle, pieces for my wingmaster, new trigger, before buying the Tactical Stock.

what is sad is that i had all geared an SR-22 and sold it for far less what i paid for.. and all the project mentionned here are not that much lighter.. 1 or 2 lbs maximum which is not a huge difference.

I really like the marauder look but decided to get a promag AA556R because its way smaller in size than the marauder. there is a small possibility that i will change my mind before buying the stock. I will see

Yeah, I was all keen on getting the Nomad/Marauder too, until I saw how big and heavy it was. Then I decided on the Archangel 556 instead. I figured that if I wanted something as big and heavy as the G36, I'd just get an H&K SL8 and convert that instead. I'd much rather have a G36 replica in 556 rather than 22LR.
