Tactical Rimfires

Is there any actual confirmation of the status of the Colt and S&W. Without a FRT #, how can we be sure they're restricted?

Ruger sr 22 is a 1022 AR-15 look alike

Seeing that pic of the gsg 5 makes me think my d#ck will fall off if i dont get one

Are there any others?

I was actually just about to start a thread asking if there are any pre-fab, non-restricted tactical rimfires besides the 597 VTR when I saw this thread. Reviews of the VTR seem quite varied, particularly if you include all the problems with the hi-cap mags, and nobody is going to use 10 rd mags in a tactical rimfire.

Does anyone sell pre-assembled Archangel Rugers, or anything of that nature?

I'm seriously looking at getting into a non-restricted tactical rimfire, but it's all new to me...

The dealers don't know s**t. Without an FRT # or definitive classification, their words (and your's) aren't worth wiping your arse on and leads to yet more rampant speculation that is quoted as "fact". The firearms community needs to fear its own ignorance more than the Federal Gov't or the RCMP.

The very fact that you have to ask what the classification status of a Ruger SR22 (aka 10/22) is speaks for itself. You can hang all the "tacticool" stuff you want off a 10/22 and it'll still be a 10/22 when you're through spending hundreds if not thousand(s) to make it look like something that it is not.

the reason we hang "tacticool" gear off of an sr-22 (10/22) or similar rifle is so you can have a "badass" gun that can be used in more places than just a range. i can leave my sr-22 in the back seat of my vehicle whenever i want, i dont need to call to get permission to transport long distance. no it doesnt have the stopping power of a AR, but an AR is like a ferrari in a canadian winter, fun but not very practical.

Well, as we all know a lot of rimfires that look 'scary' are coming into the market. Here is a list I will be building to help others understand what rifles are out there in this market.

....snip...

;) Assume no longer:

Don't thank me... it's what we do :)

Besides, I wanted one myself the moment I saw it. Now that I've shot it I want it even more.

Price is pretty awesome too... looks like $649.99 Canadian.

We have the S&W AR-22 and the COLT/Umarex AR-22 here as well (waiting for classification review by RCMP)... I can tell you that they don't come even close to the SIG522 (in my opinion).

I don't think much of the COLT... the S&W looked far better... and then we got to handle the SIG522 and it blew us away.

SIG has really surpassed expectations on this one.
