Hi I am looking at getting a new shotgun for a tac only role and I am not looking at spending to much. I'm new to the shotgun world and am not to sure on what one would be the best, I am looking at the Hatsan MP-A, Dominion Arms Cougar, and the Weatherby SA-459. My plans are to put a Burris Fast Fire on it and i do plan on having a side saddle round holder. If anyone can shed some light on this it would be appreciated.

One side question i do have is on all 3 is are you able to 'ghost' a round in any of them.

there is also a stoger Model 2000 . its not a bad price.
that dominion cougar is junk from what i have seen.
check youtube for some videos of the guns your looking at.
i would go hatsan mayself.

what is you budget exactly?
are you planning on running lighter (and cheaper) 2 3/4 birdshot through it?
if so, some may not cycle reliably.

not including sights im trying to keep it under $600 with any mods that may have to be done. and for shot im just planning on 00buck and slugs
and the only reason i have the cougar on there is mod availability

im gonna throw down my vote on the Stoeger M2000 .. i shortened this to 16" .. dunno what your laws are like about shortening though..
also added a mag ext ( 7+1 ) and HighViz rifle sights

but this was flawless

18 1/2" on the barrel and 5 of the largest shells in the tube. is the frame thick enough to drill and tap to put a rail on? and how is it on doing a round change in the chamber

I've had 4 tactical semi's so far (benelli M4, Mossberg 930, Kral 1800, Hatsan MPA). For the money the Hatsan can't be beat. Now if you have a few more bucks to start with check out the Mossberg 930. It's a better gun. Milarm or SFRC carry them.

when you rack the action it DOESNT load a new shell.. you have to release a round from the tube if you want to rack/load a new round

so you can do a round change nice and easy in the M2000's
