back to original question - where is it written about 6mm being the smallest caliber for deer hunt? I had to re-read annual hunting hand out. All it says there regarding legality of use is "rimfire" and "cntre fire". To me it sounds like 223 is perfectly legal deer gun, and it is. I suggest you drop me the link or deer will continue dying from "illegal" 223 without knowing it. Talking about legality again, 243 is legal for moose and some people use on a moose - that is a bit too small. Some deer on west coast is small like coyote, 22 would probably drop it just as good.
