What mods did you use to make the ELG handguard work with your 1854? Was it drop in or did the Dremel go brrrr?Back on topic.
Received my RPP order today. Along with some other goodies and some parts I had in the parts bin.
Pretty happy with the RPP stock. I like the adjustability of it. But over all I think the MI is probably better value. With the MI you get an adjustable cheek riser and you have mlok slots and the QD socket already available. With the RPP you have to order the QD/Mlok panel seperate, same with the cheek riser. The MI is $269usd and the RPP is $265 usd plus $20 for the riser and $20 for the mlok/QD plate.
The RPP is incredibly well made and very nice.

Awesome, thanks for the details! It might not clamp properly because the diameter of the mag tube is smaller on pistol caliber rifles than it is on 1895-derived models. The tennon on the 1854 is slightly larger than the one on Rossi and Marlin. The slot for the Tennon is slightly too narrow to fit the 1854 so out came a chisel and a few light passes later it fit. Honestly thought, I am not a huge fan of the ELG on the 1854 as it clamps to the mag tube, which on the 1854 is QD so it is not as solid of a lock up for the ELG as it is on the Marlin or Rossi. I will probably grab a MI handguard when I get around to it but the ELG suffices for now.
