"Tacticool" on the Cheap

Many thanks to my new buddy Drewz for helping out re the picture posting. The pics are self-explanatory really - the $25 e-### special mount, knock-off Leupold Mk 4 Tactical which came with free rings. Blackhawk cheekpiece borrowed from my Kimber Tactical. Total cost ( excluding cheekpiece ) well shy of $150. I think if I had used red loctite all would have been well :)

Note:- the loaded mags were for illustration only. The mag in the rifle wasn't loaded :)

Cheers,

Bob.
How clear are the optic's on the "knock-off" Tomochan? Also how did you prove that the scope is still good?
I also love how it's even got the writing around the bell like the real deal.

Satain - The glass on the knock-off isn't too bad. Most of the Chinese glass is OK but tends to be cloudy at higher magnifications but this scope with a max magnification of 10x seems to be ok. I could still see clearly on Saturday when it was really overcast and pounding down with rain. Of course, it sure isn't on a par with any real quality scope but seemes no better or worse than stuff I have looked through from NcStar or similar. How did I know the scope worked ? Well, after the experiment I put it on my Savage .22 bolt rifle and worked through just shy of 50 rounds and it seemed fine - I didn't do any box test or similar just zeroed and shot but it held point of aim well enough. I concluded that for the price this was a fun thing to buy and probably would give really good service on a 10/22 or similar that was all dressed up but, obviously, I wouldn't be recommending it as a purchase for a rifle that you were looking to depend upon.
