I hope I'm asking this question in the right place.
I'm planning on getting my PAL/RPAL soon, I'm hopefully going to go do the courses/tests on March 1st. The vast majority of the guns I see myself buying are shotguns, specifically short barreled and tactical ones, as they are the firearms I have always enjoyed shooting the most.
So my question is, where do you guys shoot them? I know TSE allows slugs and buckshot, however I find it very cramped there, especially for the price of membership, and a 25 yard range isn't really a lot of room to play around with slugs.
Are there any other ranges you guys can recommend? I was mostly interested in the Homestead range outside of Calgary, however the only information I can find related to this topic is under their rules...
"# Shotguns only at the shotgun facility
# No shotguns to be used on the rifle range"
Can anybody tell me what the shotgun facility is like? Is it still free to the public? Is there plenty of room to fire off buckshot and slugs?
I realize I'm still several months away from the point of actually being able to purchase firearms, however I don't really want to go through all the complications of getting my PAL simply to buy a bunch of guns that I will never be able to shoot!
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read/answer
