Tactifool Hunting Rifle - Taking Tactical To Far

Well...We have a Tactical Side/Side and Over/Under Shotgun from Stoeger, a Tactical Lever Action from Mossberg, and now the new Tactical Remington SPS 700. It now has a pistol grip and an AR-15 stock! The Firearms manufactures have oviously caught on that a lot of firearms owners are just that... firearms owners and they buy anything with the word tactical on it.

Your post makes it sound like the CGN are a bunch of kids, wanting to play war games!

we used to joke about taking a 2x4, spraybombing it black and calling it a 'tactical stud', seeing how many we could sell- I bet it would be a LOT :)

So... What's your point op?.... It's a gun... If someone buys it and shoots it legally it helps the cause...

Nothing wrong with catering to all niches off the firearms market

I put a tactical bolt knob an my Tikka Battue Lite, and a five round mag. I think thats as far as I'll go. But I often thought a small rail on the stock might be nice to mount a lite for tracking blood trails, or mounting a bipod. But I don't think I'll take it that far.

No, thats just how you see it.

Thats right! You could even paint a 2x4 green and call it the "zombie stud." Man, you would make millions! After all, Hornady just took their regular ammo and re-brand it Hornady Zombie Ammo and charged more money for it and look how successful they were! Laugh2

Have you watched any tactical coolness videos on YouTube lately? Defiantly not helping.

Don't get me wrong everyone. I believe any qualified person should be able to own what ever the hell they want. Including full auto rifles, If you want to blow your money on tactical guns then do it.

I think if a CO saw a flashlight on your hunting rifle he would charge you with unfare chase. Meaning, you're blinding your game with the flashlight. If you ever have to track a blood trail with a flash light it would be cause you shot your game animal close to dusk and it got to dark for you to see the blood trail. What ever happend to just a regular good old hand held flashlight?

you're not from Ontario are you?

Here, you have to have your gun cased after dark when hunting, that would be of NO help.

You don't get it op... What someone likes is their preference... I have issues with guys that want to own the black stuff and pretend to be wannabee navy seals...

But if joe blow wants an xcr then I am all for it..

I'm happy to see more and more black rifles in the field. The tactical lever action did cause me to form a little bit of bile in my mouth however, but hey if a guy wants a cool looking gun, then go for it.

Black rifles or "tacticool", if that's a persons preference, so be it. It's not a particular style of firearm that appeals to me but, each to their own. When it does seem to go a little 'strange' is when say a classic lever gun is given a makeover, to look:rolleyes:, "tacticool".

I said, I believe anyone who is qualified should be able to own what ever they want including full auto rifles. My point is how goofy they're getting with this, the mossberg tactical lever, and the stoeger tactical coach gun. Whats next a Tactical Muzzleloader?

OK....since you started the thread about that remington....tel me: What *exactly* do you find so wrong with that rifle? What is it about it that you feel the need to start a "tactifool" thread? Please...let me know what you see?

I personally see a model 700 (my preference) with a short length heavy contour barrel (my preference) in a VERY ergonomic and length adjustable stock (would be perfect for going from early season light jackets to late season parkas). Sure, it's not a Silver Medallion or Cooper, but for pure function in execution it's beautiful. I use guns that WORK...not guns that look pretty.....you?

What do YOU see?

Hey man, im not picking on the guys that want something like and XCR, AR-15, or CZ 858. I'm picking on these ugly guns. Granted, this Remington 700 isent as ugly as the mossberg tactical lever but its still pretty terrible looking. I bet they will come out with extended 30 round .308 magazines for it too.
