So here's my question my brother in law plans to go hunting
in the fall and wants me to come along . I don't have a hunting license
so I was wonding would I be able to carry me 12 ga rem tac for bear defence and grouse ? Or would I get linched and branded a pocher ?
I'm in bc if this helps anyone . Thank for the help Greek.

Well, put it this way. If you get caught by a CO and he throws the book at you, don't start a tear jerker thread on here about what the big. bad conservation officer did to you!

It depends if the CO sees you "assist" your brother (push bush or otherwise assist his hunt), and I'm assuming you have a licence for grouse. You probably can't even walk or sit with your brother. If you go your seperate ways his deer hunt will probably be more sucessful (without you popping away at grouse). Once the deer is down and his tag is cut, you can assist with the schlepping and carying ;)

you still need a hunting license to hunt grouse. you may have a leg to stand on if you only have slugs in your 12ga. you still have lots of time to get your core completed...even if you don't plan on becoming a big game hunter, having a license may save you a ton of hassle in the end.

I do plan on getting my licence when I get the funds was just wondering
about this situation . How about If I am un armed will I still be a pocher if
I'm just walking threw the woods with him ? And what if I get my licence put don't
have a tag and he does would I get in trouble then ?

If you're unarmed you are a hiker, not a poacher. If you have a license, you can hunt upland game birds (grouse). I don't think you can convince a CO that you are hunting grouse with slugs. Just keep them in your pocket in case you run into a POed bear.
