Taipan X and BCL Mags

Good morning, I have not been able to find a conclusive answer to this.

Do the 20 round BCL MRX mags work with the Taipan X or can they be easily made to work?

About half my AR mags don't work well in it, looking for another option.

Being manually operated, I can't see there being an issue legally.

I tried them in mine and they didn’t work
Was hoping they would as I have two of those mags
A crypto mag that I borrowed from a friend did not work either
The only mags that I have that work in it is the one that came with it and an mfs 10 rounder

I address pmag fitment issues in the taipan discussion thread, as for the mrx i have not tried, visually there "looks" to be a way to mod it to fit, but at that point just take the rivets out of your regular stanag mags, both options are not legal.

Why would it be illegal to modify a mag from a bolt action rifle to fit a pump/ straight pull rifle? It is a manually operated firearm, there is no limit on magazine capacity? Thanks much!!!

Because that modification would also be making the magazine fit a semi auto. Remember the Taipan has a mag well of an AR15.

You have to mod the taipan magwell to accommodate the fins of the bison mags, I have no idea if there is enough material in the magwell walls for this to work. As others have mentioned modding the bison mag risks creating a prohibited device.
