"Take down 410"

The NEF Survivor chambers both 410 & 45 Colt.
Its not a take down tho'.
The Backpacker is a great little fun 410 that is OK for grouse at short range and makes a great conversation piece as everyonr thinks its illegal.

I had a "HIKER" once . It shot 4' LOW at 30' I missed a waterjug!!!! Sold it next day.JITC

The backpacker I shot would easily hit milk jugs at 45 feet with slugs. The three pellet buckshot loads were fun too. It's hard to judge just what POI should be with a bead sight. I wouldn't trust the pattern for small birds much past fifteen yards with small shot though. Seemed pretty spotty.

saddle tramp, ithink you can shoot 45 colt in 410 shotgun espcially in singles and doubles ,wholesale sports is advertiseing a single shot called survivor 410/45colt ,they are sold out right now but i think i will try one 45 colt gives you alot more hitting power than that puney 410 slug 90gr. at 1700fps compared to 255 gr.at 855 fp factory load ,what i would like to no if agood shot gun would stand up to 45/70 or 454 casul loads,if anybody has any information on this please let me know.! l.o.l.

striker! have you shot 45 colt through it?;;;;; how dose this work how do you get hold of me ,or me you???

most hinge actions can be taken down into 3 pieces.
since the receiver is tiny, those pieces are generally small, and even with an 18.5" barrel the gun is quite compact.

you could look for an old cooey single shot, chop the barrel to 18.5" and reduce the LOP of the stock. drill and tap for a bead and youre set.

those little boitos havent impressed me much. you would lose very little performance/functionality with an 18.5" 12ga cooey, and in comparison that little .410 hiker is a toy.

another option is the Rossi Trifecta youth model, its a 3-gun set that comes with .44 mag, .22lr and 20ga barrels that are pretty short (18.5"), and take down into 3 pieces. its also cheap at around $300 for the set.
the problem is actually getting ahold of one -- i had one on order for over a #%@$ing year from my gunsmith while Rossi kept postponing their shipments to them. i eventually just cancelled. Rossi really needs to get it together.
