Take down case that won't break the bank?

Anyone else find it ironic that we (myself included) will spend $1500, $2500, $5000, etc on a new gun, and then squak about ponying up the $250 for a good (to which I automatically go to Pelican) case for it?

Not me!! I have no issue buying a good quality hard case to protect my firearms. My XT Gold rides in a Pelican case.

for air travel , I purchased a hardig storm case from custom case in ottawa (they are out behind the airport). When the case arrived, I took my gun and accessories to them, and they custom cut the foam to a perfect fit for everything. They can also supply different foam if you want harder or softer. The case has six latches, two padlock spots, wheels and a handle, and has a waterproof seal with a valve to equalize the pressure for air travel. Not a case for everyday use, but definitely the way to go for airline travel.
Case: 225
Custom foam: 60

All in all a good deal. I will post pics if you want. The bonus is, my stock beretta case fits inside as well, if you take our the middle layer of foam, which is the best, as you can have one case for travel, and when you arrive, take out the regular case for ease of transport.

CT has a plano 36inch hard case with pluck foam that is similar to a pelican. Got it for my Cynergy for around 100 bucks. I beat it around, holds up pretty good.

i used and still have a guardforce case . it was on floatplanes, jetliners for more than 4 years and still in good shape. i put a savage 99 take down and his scope with no issue, if it can help.

Bought a Cabelas branded Impact case and container model. Was in the bargain section. Super case, welded, not rivets. As they say on the site, do not cut the foam, it will compress to fit. Will transport my Buckmark rifle and four handguns.
