Hey yet another question for the Tavor owner's! Went to the range and had yet another flawless shooting with the Tavor! When I got home and field stripped the bolt assembly, I believe I pulled the trigger after the removal. Then when it was time to reassemble I noticed I couldn't put the bolt back inside!!! I looked in through rear stock and noticed that the hammer was up and in the path of the bolt! I was pushing the bolt assembly pretty hard so my question is could I of hurt anything? Everything seemed and looked good but I just get paranoid at times!
Also I noticed when pulling the assembly as far back to remove the bolt the pin (sorry forgot the name for it) is hard to remove I need to use a punch and hammer... Is the gun just to new that ill experience this stuff it has only been the second time disassembling it???

The bolt in the middle should come out easy, if you are forcing it you might have to pull the black end back further. Sorry just out but I'll send you more details with pictures in a bit.

If your BCG has a little peak over the spring (and it likely does, like the image below):

This is the video you should use to clean it:

Don't drop your hammer when you don't have a bolt in the gun.

It says all through the armourers manual not to let the hammer fly forward when you've got the trigger pack out, as you could start damaging the front of the trigger packs polymer housing with repeated hits.

I doubt that its quite as bad when the trigger pack is still inside the receiver, but I'm going to say its still better to let the hammer fall when the firearm is assembled.

I just got my Tavor and put 250 rnds thru it at the range, ran flawlessly, really liking the rifle. However, the pin on my carrier group won't push out easily like the one in the video. Not sure what's up with that but frankly I don't want to start hammering on it without knowing for sure there isn't something I'm missing here. I'm following the steps exactly in the video. The pin will move slightly with finger pressure but no further, even with light taps with a punch..

You're not the first guy I've helped with that Chris!

To pop the pin out of your BCG so that the fireing pin and bolt can slide free:

1. Pull the buffer all the way back.

2. Grab your buffer guide rod and pull it all the way back.

3. Hold it there.

4. A firm tap on the non-half-moon side of the pin should get it to drop right out.

4.a) If its still giving you trouble: send me a PM and we can get it sorted out in town here.

Good stuff man, I got er out! Need to pull the guide rod that extra bit to the rear and the pin slides out easy! Much thanks TV, really appreciate it.
