Takedown rifle case

If you're a pilot packing a survival rifle then you probably want a hard case likely to survive a really rude landing, eh?

The whole idea of a survival rifle is pretty romantic. In reality if you crash you're probably either too dead/maimed to use a rifle or just fine and the cavalry is already on the way, no need to for living off the land. This is more for day to day taking walks/fishing way out there in bear country when waiting for clients.

Edited to add: In a really rude landing the last thing you want is more hard objects in the cabin with you.

i ve seen a floplance flipping over and the net to hold the load was great to save the bacon and the pilot when out it easily.

:dancingbanana: Had a pilot have a rutting moose walk right up to him and the machine while we were working this fall, we all know what you are planning here slimbo

So would a mare leg takedown be of use in this situation. Add a piece to rear stock to make it full length. 3 pieces with longest 12”

Would probably be ok, but I already have the takedown savage and the 300 savage. Really not a fan of pistol calibers either.

Conor; one time I was awaken from a nap by a calf caribou suckling on the pitot tube.

I looked at and put in a savage 99 into a fair shotgun case and it will work. Not perfect but able. I bought the case from a fellow without the shotgun. Case is 30/32” long
