I've recently sold a bunch of guns, including several BLR's, but I kept a .325WSM Takedown and rather like it. Takes down quickly, and returns to zero exceptionally well. I have it equipped with the Browning barrel-mounted scope base, as well as an EGW pic base on the receiver, so I can swap between two pre-sighted-in scopes, one scout-type and one traditional scope. I had expected that a receiver-mounted scope would cause wandering POI issues when removing and replacing the barrel, but that hasn't been the case. The cartridge is just the kind of new-age goofiness which I normally would avoid, but in this gun it works well because it allows Browning to use the short-action receiver, which gives you a nice short lever throw. This gun is a shooter.
The only two negatives are minor ones. First, the takedown lever is an awkward projection when the gun is in two pieces, sticking out and getting hung up in cases, etc. The second beef is more of an irritation, but hopefully a correctable one: the trigger is absolutely horrible; heavy, inconsistent, fairly gritty and just plain unpleasant to use, one of the worst BLR triggers I have ever encountered. It seems to be luck of the draw with these guns; some have very decent triggers, others are lousy.
Another gun to consider is one that I have incoming, haven't even laid hands or eyes on one yet. It's a Haenel break-open single shot, which takes down in seconds without tools, just like a break-open shotgun. It's super lightweight, at least according to published specs. I'll know more soon, after I play with it for a bit, but my hopes for it are high.
edited to add: Don't forget the H&R single shots. Not too pretty or refined, but the all-time best value you will ever find in a take-down rifle. Apparently discontinued recently, so existing stocks may be all that's left.
