taking a wolf with a 45-70?

you will likely need tags and im also sure that baiting wolves/coyote is illegal other then that buy a bunch of different brands weights and types of ammo for your gun and see what one shoot the best at 100 yards shots will most likely be under that if hunting the brush anyway

Bait is the best way if the wolf is already coming around. Set it at a known distance sight in at that range and sit and wait. I have found that a round in the chamber safety or half #### on,if you need to lever a rnd. into the chamber the sound will send him running. They are not that hard to kill.

^^ nonsense
season in Northern Ontario closes March 31, but if your after a particular animal that is causing problems, I would call the local CO and see if the protection of property exemption applies. Same with the requirement for a tag, probably does not apply to a landowner destroying a nuisance animal, but best to check

For the $10 it costs for a tag I'm not worried at all... as far as ammo as I said before I can only find 2 kinds of ammo 300 grain winchesters and 305 and 405 grain remingtons
