Well, neither is here just yet.

But today I paid for it before the HST crackdown in Bantario.

I was humming and haa-ing over this or a Kimber Custom II in stainless.
Time will tell if I made the right choice.

Not quite unobtainuim, but not your garden variety polymer pistol.

A Springfield Armory XDM-40 in olive drab with a stainless slide.

Transfer may take a few weeks but I'll post more pics and the obligatory hands on impressions and a range report.

actually that colour mix looks pretty good... if only they'd dial down the fancy cuts and lines and whatnots all over it...

why? shooting one won't change how it looks and how the various lines are cut on it. :p the stainless will still be stainless, the green will still be green. at least that part of it looks good!

The looks are subjective, I agree. Its the clone part of your statement that I find odd. While many people label the XDM as a Glock clone, I do believe that shooting one will make you change your mind. ;)
 
if i see someone with an xD or xDm, i'll give it a try... but you gotta admit that a lot of it IS very Glock'ish... just like a lot of Kimber / SA / Taurus / Norinco / etc are all very Colt 1911'ish for blatantly obvious reasons.

besides, AFAIK SA doesn't even make the xD / xDm anyways, so it's not like i'm hurting their feelings TOO much... :p

range day this sat, if someone has an xD i'll try it out!
 
Don't get me wrong: I'm not offended by your comments, I'm only suggesting to try one because for me it was an eye-opener. I shot a bunch of Glocks & they didn't make me come. I then shot a friend's XDM-9 while on a trip to Detroit. That time, I did come. :D When Darren brought them into Canada, I jumped and got myself a black one in .40S&W. This one felt even better than the XDM-9, I couldn't believe the accuracy. Its the shooter/gun combination, I know, we love some & others leave us cold, but you've got to try it - because only then you can decide if its a Glock clone - or something more like a 'Croatian Sensation'. ;)
 
speaking of the HST overall, though, i totally forgot that it's coming into effect yesterday AND that it affects the price of fuel. i kinda should have filled up the tank on my truck on Wednesday :p

This one's a keeper. Came in the mail tonight from Saskatoon Gunworks... (A++) and took it to the RA tonight.

I shot a couple of 5 round groups in just about 2" at 20 yards.
Only put one box 180 gr Federal through it but first impression is that it is easier to shoot than my Glock 17.

No FTE/FTFs and the sight picture is nice with the three dot setup.

It's a nicer quality firearm than a Glock as far and fit and finish go.

I always hated the look of the XD but this one looks pretty decent! I'd love to handle one, looks like it has some potential. I just wish they were more affordable (I don't see why it has to be over $750), Hard to lay out $1100 (after tax/shipping) when I can get a gen4 Glock for $450 less... :/

it looks great tho!
