Tales of a Lee Enfield Carbine refurb (DONE!)

Absolutely STUNNING!

As I started going through this thread, I was wondering if it was Gary D's carbine, which I knew he had entrusted to a friend to restore. However, that question was answered in the affirmative on the 4th page of the thread .... and I can certainly see why he wanted Lou to perform the resurrection!

Gary, I sure hope you can make it down to next year's Alberta Shoot, so we can all get to play with this beauty! (Mind you, if you're coming back to the Maple Creek/Medicine Hat area before then, and can stop by again for a visit, bring it along if at all possible so I can fondle it!

Thanks Guys :)

GrantR, I just hope GaryD will be as happy when he gets it ;) The old gal is on her way right now, should reach him sometime next week.

Lou

She is finally home and if is empirical proof of Lou's modesty. Even better in person than in pics. Praises abound. Grant, you can bet it'll be coming to the next Alberta VR shoot!, although I agree it would be nice to get together before then.

Did you ever think about taking on bigger jobs, I have a 50 Ford Woody that needs a little work...................

Indeed the wood on that rat car sure could use some help :D

Chofo, if you ever want to drop by feel free to invite yourself over, I usually have either coffee in the pot or beer in the fridge, depending what time of day it is ;)

Lou

Lou, that is simply outstanding! Oh, the envy I'd have if someone showed-up to the next EOHC milsurp match with such a beauty!!!

Gary D, on a technical note, I'm curious as to what type of loads you're planning to feed your new carbine? I think I've read somewhere that the original blackpowder .303 loads were pushing a 215gr slug at about 2000fps.
