Talk me into buying an SKS

I would first ask what are your reasons for not?

Honestly? Moneys tight and there are more important things to save for. ie baby coming in a few months. I'm thinking I'd rather spend money on more handguns (more fun) than another rifle. On the other hand its still an SKS and then modification possibilities are almost endless. Hence my plea for advice.

They are so awesome! You can shoot up to 1 inch groups at 500 yards with surplus ammo. You can also hit a deer 15 miles away. (If you walk 14.9 miles closer to it) Please not your mileage may vary. It is such an awesome rifle all modern military forces use it. Like north Korea and Somalia. It is zero maintenance. (If you like rusty guns)

Sold yet?

If you're really worried about it, of all the rifles out there... the SKS value seems to hold steady and not hard to unload them either. So in a pinch, if those funds need to come back for the baby, or another emergency situation - you can recoup your costs with little to no (possibly even profit depending on how the SKS situation keeps going) in no time.

What's the very good deal? under $150 out the door? you can get them at most shops for $199-219, sometimes cheaper on sale or a no tax day. With money being tight unless the deal is awesome pass and pick one up down the road.
