I knew I could talk you into buying it. Next were going to talk you into an 8 pound cannon. They're neat. You should get one. Comes in handy when bears attack. Also makes a great home defence platform.
 
I coddled my SKS's today. Love them. Go for it... they're too cool.

Weimajack still has a few nice laminates.

Westrifle is getting another shipment in a few weeks. Looking forward to seeing what they bring in.

With respect, buying one that's already "modded" will save mod-minded of time and money, most of the time.


And the SKS is a great firearm - I think I'm at 7 now.


And, of course, I noticed too late that the OP already bought an SKS...sigh.
 
If you buy an SKS suddenly you will be a little more ###y and more well endowed than a large rat! That is as hard as I cold try to talk you into it!
That being said I have a Russian and a Chinese SKS and they are good rifles for the money!

At what part in your life did you first notice you were interested in rat dicks? Mind you, I'm not criticizing. Different strokes for different folks, I say. :)
 
I would say the SKS is the most fun you can have with 200$ (a good date generally will cost you more). It's no tac driver, but it will run flawlessly and if you desire, can be tacticooled for a low cost. I know some people cringe at the thought of tacticooling, but damnit, it's a 200$ sks, not some rare, never come across one again in your life kind of rifle.
 
Glad you bought it. Now oil it up real good and put it into storage. Your kid will love you in 65 years when they retire and can sell it for $400 ;)






















On second thought: Just go out and shoot it, clean it and keep it in good condition. It is a perfect firearm to get your soon to be born into shooting when they are old enough.
