talk me out of a JR carbine 9mm (PICS added post #49)

Got mine today. Cannot wait to get it out to the range! In the meantime I've done the obligatory teardown and cleaning.

Big thanks to TERMINATOR101CA. I was able to get the roll pin out with just a little fuss. So I now have an adjustable stock.

Did you go out for drinks with the "guy" in the camo pants after?

The sub 2000 just looks and feels better IMHO, get one of those:) I just got one and it is super accurate out to 100 yards. Dont know about further as that was all I had. AND it folds up and fits in a tool box!!! The JR sure cant do that! I held the JR and the Thureon at the same time and the Sub is lighter and just feels better

Dont buy the JR 9mm Carbine!..........

Just buy the JR 45ACP Carbine!!! Lol!

I got mine tonight! Its gonna make big holes in the target! Whooohoo!

It seems like a well built firearm. Well balanced and very compact.

What kind of optics are you guys putting on yours?
I think a red/green dot scope with variable reticles/and light intensities would be fine.
Maybe 2X or 4X?

I just picked up a JR in 45ACP today and topped it off with a Tasco Propoint. Heading to the range tonight to try it out.

I think this is a reverse physicology thread........ It looks like Elwood Epps has a bunch is stock....... after youtubing, pretty hard not to want one of these. NR, go gopher blasting, cool looking gun...... added to my want list now.

I went out shooting my JR45ACP last night.
Fired only 50 rounds, as I was teaching my sister-In-Law how to shoot as well.
I had three malfunctions. The ammo had a velocity inconsistancy. You could hear it. I will chrony it later.
When this rifle misfeeds a round, it DESTROYS the brass! The third miss feed stove piped and actually punctured the side of the case! Wow!
When the rifle was shot slow and deliberately, not a single problem.

I would like to mention that I never cleaned the rifle before I used it as they reccommend in the manual. So I cant really blame the gun yet.

On the positive side;

I initially sighted the carbine at 25yds. (1" high). I am using a cheap millet aimpoint.
I sighted the rifle in by shooting offhand.
I managed to group 3 of 4 rounds in a big cluster. The fourth one was my fault.

At 50yds;
I shot 5 rounds at the 1" bull, and got a 2-2.5" group!
That surprised me! Very happy at this point.

I shot 5 rounds at 100yds.
From a rest this time.
4 rounds were again about a 2.5" group! I am not sure of the fifth round, but it dropped low of the group by 4-5 inches.
I am very impressed with the precision of this little carbine!
.
I used extra high rings on the aim point for a comfortable aiming position.

Here is another interesting point:
With the carbine sighted in at 25yds, the point of aim is approximately 1-1/2" high at 50yds, and "point of aim at 100!
I never expected the 230gr. ball ammo to fly that flat! It appears to be an accurate little carbine!

All in all I expect the feeding malfunctions to improve as the rifle works itself in.
The magazine is wayyyy easier to load now! It was brutally hard to feed the last 3 rounds into the mag the first time!

The trigger wasnt hard, but it is a little lengthy of a pull.

I will collect a series of hollow point brands of ammo, and bench shoot it. Then I will load my own ammo and see how accurate it can get.
Lots and lots of fun!

Take care and straight shootin gunnutz!

I am now 2 weeks and ~250 rounds into my JR. It was not my intention to create a "reverse Psychology" thread :D. I love my JR, and I continue to be amazed with how accurate this little carbine is.

Zero regrets!

Update! A few weeks in, the accuracy of this carbine is a nice bonus. At 75 meters, shooting off a sandbag, it is possible to get cloverleaf groupings. The Vortex Sparcs' 2 MOA dot helps as well. The Sparc is riding on the "extra high" mount, and is setup for a lower 1/3rd co-witness with the BUIS. And after some some Magpul kool-aid from the EE, my JR now looks like this (I'm still looking for an MOE stock and grip in FDE if anyone is selling):
