So I have been on a bit of a buying spree of late (M29-2, M29-10, BFR, Alfa Proj). And now I feel I need a Alfa Proj. 22LR carbine. I have their carbine in .357 Mag and I really like that. So want a partner for it in the vault.

Convince me not to do this. Please.

When I shot the Alfa Proj.Carbine .357 Mag (shooting .38 Special) I got hot gas/particles in the face all the time. I assumed it was due to wind. Could it be because my face was too close to the cylinder due to the stock? Can't remember this with other revolvers? The cylinder gap seems fine.

How hard would it be to ream out the .22LR to .22 Winchester Mag calibre?

Probably easier to rebarrel, since they have different bullet diameters as well as chambers
 
.22 LR = .223 {.2255 Saami}
.22 Mag = .224

+ with different bullets, waxes, coating etc. there is slight variances anyway. I mean, thats half the width of a human hair difference. I'd still get a .22WMR if they made one, & figure out shooting .22lr out of it. I shot lots of .22lr out of my Chiappa little badger WMR with no issues/problems.

Single Six's have a .224 bore diameter.

Also, there's threads of guys reaming out .the 22lr cylinder to WMR on their Wranglers with no issues so far I've read.

Thanks for the response. I didn't know the projectiles were different. I have a Ruger convertible .22LR/.22WMR it shoots fine. I guess the thing with .22WMR is longer bbl. The round is made for rifles so a longer bbl is needed basically to get the best out of the round. Expensive to shoot, almost cheaper to shoot factory 9mm.
 
Well I was leaning toward getting the gun and making it into a gun that would fire .22 mag/.22 LR. That is not possible. I am looking at the cylinder for my Ruger, the two rounds and the book Cartridges of the world. To make the gun .22 mag would require three separate procedures. Not a simple thing. The rim is bigger, the case is bigger around and the bullet is bigger by .001" I don't know how long the cylinder is on the Alfa Proj. but it could be too short as well. So scrap this idea.
