Talk to me about shooting shirts. (materials, etc)

I checked out some at National sports yesterday and found many options between $20 - $50 to choose from.
They varied from Niki, Under Armor, Addidas & other known brands and varied in styles and colours & fitting options...
would be nice to have some cool logos on them or our names, but most of these looked sporty and seemed to be of decent quality material.
There were some new designed was that have uv blocking to keep heat rays away, but they were over $80 ??? for what ?? just wear white or other very light colour and you get same effect !! just a t-shirt for crying out loud.. and a mass produced one at that...

haha... white cotton shirts are 5 for 15$, you will appreciate that the first time you catch your 50$+ fancy shirt on something, I also dont like the synthetics I find they dont perform any better then a light white cotton shirt (and dont have a tag at the neck to bug me)

you can also have fun with iron on decals on the cotton shirts,

I hope you support this with ton of experience shooting from Florida, humid Virginia and other parts of our continent which are less friendly to something which soaks quick.
But what do I know since all shooting I do is my local gun range

You have absolutely no sense of style..:kickInTheNuts::p

But seriously....you would appreciate shooting in the Techwear /Gemini type breathable shirts. When that random breeze comes along you will know it and appreciate it....
I can afford it...I like them. Have fun shooting and sweating your ass off....LOL:cool:

I like the Nike Polo dry fit material shirts, $50 at Dicks Sporting Goods. I've had more expensive IPSC shirts and these still look, feel and function just as well.

If you don't need to have a bunch of stuff on your shirts and brand name stuff then there are cheaper alternatives. As an undershirt at work I wear ten dollar wal-mart brand under armor knock-offs, and they work just as well as under armor and seem to be of the same material. I spend my summer wearing a dark outfit with a heavy belt and body armor doing physical work, so I imagine it would be more than adequate for a shooting match.

That said, if you want to spend the big bucks techwear/etc because of the style or the name then fair enough. There are just cheaper alternatives that are good in high temperatures.

I always wear an undershirt and a shooting shirt, even on hot days.

The underarmor/nike synthetic breathes well and wicks away moisture. It also prevents my shooting shirt from "sticking" during really hot, humid days. After a long day in the hot sun, the underarmor is easy to clean in the hotel sink and dries quickly if I need to wear it the next day.

On a colder day, I go for heavier underarmor.
