I have a 700 LTR in 223 and have just bought a McMillan M40 stock for it. It is my coyote gun/range banger out to max 300yds. I use Talley Lwts on some other hunting guns and think they're great. This gun however, will see a lot more shooting. What do folks think about these on a high volume target gun? Currently the gun wears Leupold steel bases and Warne Maximas,

Thanks,

Patrick

Tally will do just fine it a 223. I had them shot 1000s with no need for adjustment. use a little bit of blue lock tite on the screws if you have concerns. This thread really should be in the hunting ot optics forum by the way.

Thanks for the input. I put in this forum as the rifle is more of a precision platform, hence my concern over using a predominantly hunting intended lightweight ring.

I use them on my 338 win mag with a conquest. No problems with the rings holding the scope. Gun weighs ~7.5lbs with scope and boolits.
