Talley LW INCH pound torque spec and height choice

Figured I'd put this in the hunting forum as well as optics forum since so many hunters use this ring.

Anyone know the INCH pound torque spec for mounting Talley's to receiver as well as spec for clamping scope? Can't seem to find it.

Also, what height are you guys generally going with? Obviously it has to be high enough to clear the objective but have read that their low rings are not all that low.

In my case its not the objective I'm concerned about, its the bolt handle clearing the eye piece (at least for the scope I'm currently mounting). USO SN4s, objective is only 22mm. If I change scope down the road I'll order a different ring height if needed. This is being mounted on a Remington 700.
Any advice appreciated.

The low Talleys are not that low really, and would cover most scopes up to 50mm. As for torque, I use the snug setting.

Talley recommends 15-18 inch-pounds
