Talley LW's vs. Leupold DD's on a Rem SA

You guys that have used both. Your thoughts. I've got a couple of builds that I'm mulling rings on.

Mine:

Talley's are simple, light and rugged. They look OK, but are a little on the high side.

Leupold DD's are simple, low and rugged. They look good, but their spacing is a little funny and they only utilize a couple of rings per cap.
 
I have both and to tell you the truth I don't think the Talley lows are all that much higher then your standard low rings. I have a slightly large head :) so maybe that's why it feels that way but my cheek weld feels great with my Talley lows and no eye alignment issues. How about finding a buddy or someone that has both so you can take em for a test drive?

I've used both quite a fair amount.
 
I always used to use silver DD base with matte med DD ring. Never had a problem with holding zero. However I like the talleys just a bit more. They seem more solid and thats good enough reason for me plus they cost less$
 
I have used lots of dual dovetails....A pretty good mount for the weight and for the money.

It is possible to knock them hard enough to cause a serious aiming misalignment.
Though it cost my buddy the buck of a lifetime and a moose (all in one hunt) he willingly admits that he should have checked the zero after dropping the rifle.:redface:

The Talley lightweights appear more robust.
