Talley quality?

I just had a warne Qd steel ring show huge wear on the recoil lug on a CZ 550 in 458 Lott. I sent them some pictures and I had new rings within days, no questions asked. I have seen pics of talley Qd fail on the 458 Lott as well.

You guys must be tougher on your rifle than I am. I currently have Talley LW on Remingtons, Winchester, Kimber and Tikka rifles. The hardest kicker is only a .300 WSM though but no issues.

Dumb#### Mickey Mouse scope mounting system Sako uses ! They should use 8 x 40 mounting screws and a locating pin in in both front and rear mount bases - DO away with that stupid Dovetail system ! ALL rifle makers should use locating pins ! and some action makers do now . jmo RJ

I never had an issue with sakos own mounts, 3 ring sako optiloc mount with the recoil lug on the 338 lapua and it never moved.

I have the same question, judging by the marks, whatever it was, was not tight and moving to make that kind of transfer

I answered the brass marking question in post 19.

I'll post that info again.

The base naturally situated too far forward on the Sako dovetail. That spaced the rings just a little bit too far apart for the scope. So I placed a brass shim under the base and tapped the base ahead until it was tight and the rings were situated on the scope fine... then I tightened the two screws in the base...

So nothing was moving ... and even if it was moving it should simply tighten up on the taper, not break as it did.
