Talley has some 30mm rings/bases but unfortunately I may have to order these online and obviously won't be able to test fit for clearance. I was looking at Talley Low rings and wondering if anyone has a similar combo to me that knows if this will work :)

Hey Bolt_Action,

Coincidentally, I have Talley rings attaching my HS-T onto my Tikka, so I think I could be of some help here. One issue I ran into with mine is I had mounted it with medium height rings and I found that when I would go to eject the shell, it would hit the wind turret and fall back in the chamber, so I had to mount high Talley rings on mine. I shoot a 7mm rem mag, so I don't know if that is a unique issue with long action magnums, or if it will happen with all cartridges, but I figured it was worth mentioning to save you a possible headache. Since yours is the Varmint, I don't know for sure if lows will have enough clearance for the objective lens, but in this case, especially if you will be using it for hunting, I would focus more on that ejection issue. If you can, take it to a shop and get them to dry mount some different height rings and bring a spent shell with you to test if it ejects. Last thing you want is to have a failure to eject if you go to take a follow up shot. Give me a call at 1-877-547-6873 if you want to chat more on the subject.

I tried two different big box shops today and they were very low on stock especially for a Tikka. I really didn't feel like driving all around town to find a combo that may or may not work so I thought I would come here. Because of the stock issues I was planning on ordering online but obviously thats a non-returnable situation if it doesn't work. How does the high rings look on your Tikka? Also i'm shooting 308 and plan on mainly bench/prone shooting.

I have the medium Talley lightweights on a t3 with a Bushnell 6500 2.5 - 16x42 and there is nearly 1/2 of clearance. I wish I would have got low rings but like you I was in a predicament and ordered them from Amazon.
 
Thanks to Anthony at Grouse River I have some Vortex Percision Machine rings and a Full lenght 20moa Talley rail ordered up :) I will post a picture as soon as its put together!
