Heres my thoughts on the Tanfoglio Appeal that I purchased from Freedom Ventures years ago.... hope this video helps anyone in this forum who thinking about purchasing one!

Hey Murray~very well-done, and very comprehensive. Thanks for posting..and keep up the good work. I watched your Type 81 video right after!

Good video! Good gun!
Where to buy 22LR? (Seeing as the 22mag is a unicorn) Do they have larger magazine capacities as Well?

Great review, the 2-3 or 4-6 MOA at best accuracy is kind of disappointing though. Would have made a fun gopher gun otherwise.

I like mine in .22wmr but have had multiple parts breaks. The sear shelf and the counter weight (maybe right terms) have had ( soon waiting on parts) to be replacedone. The importer has been great......Tanfoglio has made some mistakes and sent the wrong parts. If I was to guess an average maybe a 8 month wait on parts. Last point, thread pitch on the barrel is also out os spec, so most muzzle devices don't pair up. You review is spot on though dude, keep up the good work!

Biggest POS firearm I ever owned. I'm actually embarrassed to say that I owned one of these. Dumped it and ran as fast as I could.

^ Very helpful. No specifics or details, just piss on everyone else's corn flakes and then disappear.

I had one in .22lr and enjoyed it tremendously. 100% function, and with its favourite loads it displayed much better accuracy than your .22mag gun. The problem with the magnum is that there are far fewer different loads to try out than are available for the long rifle. If you don't get lucky you may never get great accuracy; with the scads of .22lr ammo types on the market, odds are good that you will find a load or two that stands out above the rest.

Ok.... my bad. I'll elaborate.

I tried 3 different 22WMR ammo types through the 3 magazines I had for it. CCI 40gr HP, CCI 40gr TMJ and Hornady 30gr v-max. Each ammo type failed to properly function through any of the 3 mags. I had 3-4 failures in every magazine. Light strikes, stove pipes and fire a round eject fine but not pick up the next round.

Thought it just needed broke in so I kept trying. Took it apart cleaned and oiled thoroughly a few times. Never made a difference. After 30+ mags through it without any improvement I gave up.

Never got through 1 mag without minimum of 3 failures.

On top of that I put a 4-12x on it for a few rounds just to check accuracy. Out of the rounds that actually did fire I got anywhere from 4 to 7 inches at 100y with both types of CCI. The Hornady was much worse.

EDIT: all 3 ammo types I tried in the Tanfoglio Appeal function 100% in my Magnum Research semi-auto. The CCI ammo can do less than 2". The Hornady isn't very accurate in this rifle either but it does still function 100%

Thanks for posting that info jiff, I thought that tangfoglio might be on the list of rimfires to acquire at some point. Not anymore...

jiffx2781 you might want to stop using those 30gr rounds in your MR. It voids your warranty and probably will start making it choke on you soon. MR's instructions say so.

Thanks Moe. I bought the MR used and didn't get an owners manual so I wasn't aware of that. I've put around 100 of the 30gr through it with no functional issue but I have already stopped using them in it because accuracy was poor.
