Tanfoglio Appeal - Back in stock.

There is a shipment of Appeals that was due in December that is now due the week of March 17. That one is all presold. People may be able to get the guns from some of the dealers getting guns from that shipment as they may not have their allocations all presold.

There is a second shipment of Appeals due in May that is not all presold. We're taking orders on that one, but I am concerned with the recent track record at Tanfoglio that that shipment may drag out into June for delivery.

Please keep the RCMP and rifle banning issues in the correct threads; general discussion, black/red/green rifles, etc. Thank you.

Sean.

I put an order in for a Tanfoglio Appeal .22LR and an extra magazine earlier. Any suggestions for a decent, compatible red dot sight? I've heard that the Bushnell TRS-25 red dot sight is a good value and compatible with this rifle.

Thanks

Thanks for the order.

This should work pretty good.

My order arrived today. I inspected the rifle then took it out into a field to shoot off a few rounds. While loading the magazine, I unintentionally attempted to push an eleventh cartridge into the second magazine. I felt something roll off my pinky finger as the last cartridge was inserted. Upon further investigation, I realized a pin had fallen out by comparing the two magazines. I wasn't sure if it was a necessary component or just something added for shipping purposes. It took me quite awhile to locate such a small piece in the prairie as the sun was setting.

Anyway, I'm wondering what is this pin for? It can easily be lost and being such a cheap, little piece it doesn't seem very reliable or easily replaced. On another note, I experienced several failure to fire and failure to feed. This occured a few times and always on the last round. I will try again this weekend when I have more time to spare.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the magazine mostly wouldn't release and had to be pulled on to be removed. Removing the magazine caused the charging handle to spring forward automatically. From what I have seen in videos and read online, this should not happen. Could one little pin on the magazine really affect the entire operation of the rifle THAT much?

Desoulation, we can help you significantly better if you contact us direct (with your real name) via email or phone.
It sounds like you might have a faulty mag. We'd be happy to exchange it - but of course, we'd need to know who you are.
Did you try the second mag with the gun?

Be aware, the Tanfoglio doesn't have a picatiny rail. You must select a red dot with only one screw and maybe you'll need to file the rail.

Yes sir, I fed ammunition into two of the three magazines I purchased. Both had the same problem with the magazine pin falling out when slightly depressing after loading the tenth cartridge. I did not think it was a faulty magazine as all three are comparable in build and function, from what I can tell. I will try shooting off a few more mags with these pins securely in place when I have some spare time. If this doesn't solve the problem then I will contact your company directly. It just seems odd that such a trivial component is so unintentionally released and potentially affects the entire operating mechanism. I posted hoping to get some feedback from others with more time and experience with their own rifles.

Panzer1, do they use a different mounting rail system in Italy of which you are aware? It seems silly Tanfoglio wouldn't export Weaver/Picatinny versions to North America. I've heard their rail isn't compatible with some scopes/sights. I would hate to file down plastic on a brand new rifle.
