Hi all,

I'm considering buying this Tanfoglio pistol and was hoping that I could get some help with an identification/evaluation. As far as I can tell it is a small frame pistol with a replacement 40 cal slide.

The only markings I can find are serial number (an M block number), caliber, Tanfoglio branding and the slide is marked "P40L". I was unable to find anything by googling this marking.

It takes CZ 75b mags and has a 4.75" long barrel (measured from rear of chamber to muzzle). Trigger pull is about 4.75 lbs SA and around 9lbs DA. I would likely be putting an SAO trigger in it if I buy it. Overall it appears to be in very good condition, with only minor holster and slide wear.

Any info and possible value would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone had a Canadian source for 9mm barrels I'd appreciate that info.

Thanks,

Tom

My 1st all steel pistol is a P19L (9mm), have around 15k rounds through it. Use it as a backup to my stock 3 now but I put a bunch of xtreme parts in the stock 3 and put the stock 3 parts in the P19L. The trigger is about as nice as my stock 3 and I like the one piece sear in the P19L over the 2 piece in the stock3 . It's a good, reliable starter pistol but you will notice quality differences between it and the stock 3. It takes small frame tanfo mags. No problem converting it to single action, just need trigger and hammer.

Pretty sure I had one just like it...I couldn’t find anything much about it either..was a good pistol though..

Thank you all! Warlordof3, I appreciate your comments and experience with the pistol.

I ended up deciding to purchase it, so we’ll see how she shoots!

Thanks again,

Tom
