Tanfoglio Lands in Canada.

Would you happen to know if any of the pics you posted are considered to be of the "Wonder Steel" or "Wonder Finish" version?

Not a F@#$@#$ Chance. :D

Its all Tanfoglio. The USA thing is to do with EAA...and they are not in the picture here.
I read on 1911 forum that the barrel, slide and frame are made in the Philipines by Armscor and the gun is assembled in Italy. Can you confirm or deny?

Neither right now, but I can check. Tanfoglio does have a close relationship with Armscor so it would not surprise me if it was true. (So I guess that "It's all tanfoglio" thing was a bit overboard - sorry. Just wanted to make sure they were not confused with thier competitor...)

lets see a "range report " on the 1911 and some better pictures .what type of metal ?? is it a true mil spec ?? trigger pull in lbs ??

I know I'm going to catch #### for this but I couldn't hold my tongue any longer. Honestly I don't want to piss anybody off but I gotta call a spade a spade. I think the pricing on these things is insane by comparison to what I have been qouted from another supplier. Sorry but....

Tanfoglio

.......pretty hard to name ANOTHER supplier when Freedom Ventures is the first and ONLY Tanfoglio distributor in Canada.....you can't even buy them in the States (the EAA versions are NOT identical)

ahem..I call BS on that one.

They certainly look nice, but realisticly speaking, isn't that just a prettied up CZ? Ok, the Stock model is longer then the SP-01, so it probably has little more weight, but trade the adjustable sights for the CZ FO sights, and the rest (as applicable to Production) is the same... For twice the money... ? What am I missing?

Yeah, if it is double the price I would take a CZ but the Tanfoglio FO sights are pretty nice, as are the triggers in both DA and SA.

It is a prettied up CZ in some respects. I conisider myself a bit of a purist in that I would rather shoot a 20 year old CZ than a new clone, but I must say that I have been very impressed with the Tanfoglios.

My $0.02:

It being aprettied up CZ is a Good thing.

CZ quality has taken a dump lately, but the basic design is good. If the Italians can do it better... well, great, I say!

and remember who shoots for Tan..............

Ohhh, please.. That's like people who were saying 2 years ago that you need to get a Beretta for Production because that's what Nick was shooting, and he was #1 at the time. What might fit his hand and work for someone else doesn't mean it will work for you...
