Mod pix...finally

Sorry for the wait. It's been a busy weekend. FYI: Here are the photos or what the holster mod looks like.

I see, so that is for SA. I wonder if that would work with double action and placement of the retainer? I looks like you used the other retainer, or cut it? What is the length of the retainer after the cut?
nice pics BTW.

Thanks.
It would work fine for DA, as the main issue with fitting the large frame Tanfo's is the length of the trigger guard. The DA trigger is in pretty much the same spot as the SA trigger so it's not an issue. Yes, it is the other trigger retainer (B) but it is not cut. I've relieved the holster body instead (chisled it out) to lower the retainer as far down as it will go and still fit the slot. With this done I simply drill a new screw hole just under the existing one (carefully, because the drill bit will bottom out on the brass fitting inside). I have also removed the boss at the screw hole on the insert by just filing it flat to the retainer body, in order to bring the locking bar flush with the insert for better locking.

I also did a little subtle reshaping on the insert locking face to prevent any possibility of pulling the gun out of it when locked. But this may or not be necessary.

This set-up prevents any and all extraneous movement of the gun in the holster. The trigger guard is butted up against the retainer, so there is no lift clearance unless you want to actually unlock it and draw the gun. The muzzle plug adjusts for correct height and the white plastic screw on the front of the holster prevents any fore and aft movement. The shims in the trigger slot prevent all side to side movement. So with everything done properly the holster is very safe, fast, and keeps the gun in exactly the same position from draw to draw, since it can't move around at all. Done the other way, it is possible to lift the gun just enough for the muzzle to come off the plug and let the gun flop around in the holster, pivoting on the trigger guard. If you imagine doing this with a loaded gun on a stage, perhaps drawing from a seated position, it could be pretty dicey. You may easily push the muzzle clear of the plug with your leg or the back of a seat and not know it. When you stand to draw your gun will then be flopping around loose in the holster and NOT locked!

Just some stuff to think about.

Good luck!
